Germany Move Planning Session

Who this session is for

This is the flagship consultation for an employed professional, researcher, student, self-employed applicant, accompanying partner, or returning German family member who has a likely destination but an uncertain sequence. It is useful before signing a lease, resigning from a job abroad, choosing a consular appointment, or setting a firm arrival date.

It is not legal representation, a visa application filing service, tax advice, or a promise that an authority will approve an application. Where your question turns on individual legal interpretation, we identify that boundary and recommend the appropriate regulated adviser.

What we prepare

Before the call, you complete a short intake covering citizenship, family members, intended activity in Germany, destination, employer or institution, target dates and current documents. We review the answers and note the dependencies that deserve attention.

During the consultation we work through:

• the likely residence or free-movement basis and where official confirmation is needed;
• passport, civil-status, employment and qualification documents to check;
• consular, foreigners authority and local registration touchpoints;
• realistic housing evidence for Anmeldung and the risks of temporary addresses;
• health insurance timing and common proof questions;
• the sequence for tax identification, bank access and family arrangements;
• fallback decisions if an appointment or document takes longer than expected.

Within two German business days, you receive a concise written roadmap with priority actions, target dates, open questions and links to official sources. Translation, certified copies, authority fees, appointment booking and form completion are excluded.

How the 90 minutes runs

1. Establish the route

We test the assumptions behind your intended move: who is moving, under what basis, from which country, and when work or study must begin. EU citizens and non-EU nationals have different formal steps, while mixed-nationality families need both sets considered together.

2. Build the dependency map

We place decisions in practical order. A landlord’s confirmation affects registration; registration often precedes a tax ID; insurance evidence may need to exist earlier than expected. The plan shows which items can run in parallel and which cannot.

3. Assign the next actions

Every unresolved item leaves the call with an owner and a next check. You will know what to ask an employer, which authority page to monitor, and which document needs an apostille or certified translation check.

Preparation

Bring the exact spelling of names as shown in passports, broad travel dates, the city or district you expect to live in, and any offer letter or admission details you can describe. Do not email identity documents. You may share non-sensitive wording on screen during the call if it helps.

Location, language and follow-up

Sessions are held in English by secure video call or, by prior arrangement, at our Frankfurt office. The fee is €240 including German VAT. One clarification email within seven days is included; additional research or a revised household plan is quoted before work begins.
